As a member of a Pittsburgh-area college radio station (WRCT 88.3 FM), I co-produced the weekday evening news during two semesters: Fall 1999 and Fall 2001. I started with the associated press newsfeed, which was delivered via dialup modem. From there, I sliced and diced the articles into a format that was over-the-top-sarcastic, since I had been inspired by Rush Limbaugh while growing up. It turned out Rush was a poisonous role model, but sometimes it takes a village to raise a kid.
